About This Spot
At the heart of Lafayette Circles’ charming streets, The Hideout Kitchen invites you into a warm, unpretentious space where familiar comforts meet a touch of spirited creativity. From the moment you step inside, there’s a relaxed momentum to the room — a place humming with easy conversations, the occasional clink of glasses, and the friendly rhythm of both locals and visitors finding their cozy corner or bustling together on the patio.
The Hideout Kitchen feels like a gathering spot that effortlessly balances laid-back vibes with thoughtful attention. Whether you’re nestled at the bar chatting with attentive bartenders or taking in the fresh air outside alongside a dog-friendly crowd, the atmosphere is casual yet resonant with a sense of community. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in for a leisurely brunch or swing by for a lively dinner without ever feeling rushed or overlooked.
The menu reflects this welcoming spirit with foods that invite sharing, savoring, and making each bite memorable without fuss. Imagine starting your day with something unexpected like ube hotcakes or indulging in the satisfying crunch of honey fried chicken. Seasonal touches find their way into dishes like harvest frittatas and Brussels sprouts, while creative combinations — from pulled pork silog to pasta puttanesca — hint at thoughtful culinary storytelling. Drinks glide between mimosas and carefully selected wines, adding layers of celebration to the experience.
What truly stands out is the genuine care woven into every element — from the smiles that greet you, to the team’s attentiveness, to the steady hum of contentment around the tables. This is a place that wants you to feel seen and at ease, where small moments, like swapping a favorite dish with your dining companion or sharing laughter over dessert, quietly shape your visit. The Hideout Kitchen isn’t just about what’s on the plate, but the human connections and local flavor that transform a meal into a memorable pause in the day.

Great service from the bartender and the owner JB is a hell of a great guy. They genuinely seem to care that every person has a great experience individually and that the atmosphere as a whole is happy. I didn't see 1 not happy face in the whole place, and it was slammed. Granted it was Xmas eve when I was there so of course people were happy! Only negative and hideout has nothing to do with is the parking situation. It's all metered spots even in the parking lots, and they definitely check them. I got a ticket within 5 mins of my meter running out. Again not hideouts fault but that kinda sucks!

We loved sitting outside on the patio! They accommodated our dog to sit outside with no wait, great service. They also split the bacon grilled cheese and soup for us :) didn't think the parmesan fries were worth it and the rice overcooked though.

This place is in the cutest area to start! Amazing and fast service without being overbearing. The drinks are amazing and the food was delicious. I got the honey fried chicken. The chicken was slightly dry, but it was amazing crunchy breading, and the mashed potatoes that came with it were perfect. The service we received here was the best service I've experienced in quite some time. Everyone greeted us with a smile, and they worked as a team to take care of their guests. Highly recommend this restraunt.

My favorite brunch place hands down! Great food and vibes. Several vegetarian options as well. My fave is their mascaparone toast (it comes with a generous helping of cream and butter so be prepared lol) Staff agree friendly and welcoming. Can get busy during weekends and maybe a slight wait time as well. Plenty of parking nearby but it's metered.

Very nice brunch place.. sadly they messed up our order and half the table finished their meal before the other half came out. But the server was very apologetic… I guess The fries are so good

We had actually eaten at Horn BBQ prior to coming here but were so unimpressed that we searched out a second eatery and were pleasantly surprised to find the area where The Hideout Kitchen is located. What a lovely little area with multiple places tucked away in tree-lined streets with a nice ambiance. The restaurant is well designed with classy decor. There's a variety of seating styles to accommodate all preferences. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the Aperoco Lush - DELICIOUS. Very reminiscent of a creamsicle slushy but potent enough to make a person very happy. Also ordered a Crimson Fog. The banana liquor wasn't prominent but it was a pretty pink color with a hint of floral essence (possibly from an herbal gin). It was very balanced and did not have a strong alcohol flavor. The fee foam was nearly non-existent but it's mainly for appearance, so it was ok. We ordered the fabulous Peach Panzanella salad. The combination of sweet peaches, salty tomatoes, brie cheese and croutons with olive oil and lemon was spot on. Excellent flavor combination. We also ordered the buttered apple flatbread which was also delicious. The crust is nice and light yet crispy, the pesto is just enough to have presence, the brie cheese with the apple and onion is fabulous. We will definitely be coming back. We didn't have room for dessert sadly, but after looking at the photos it looks like breakfast might be the winner to try! Our experience made for a delightful evening, I just wish we had more room in our bellies!

Wonderful place to grab cocktails and dinner. Large bar with great ambiance. I had the Seafood Stew and a friend had the fried chicken. Everything was exceptional. They have happy hour daily, and other specials.
